WELCOME to gillian jackson photography
The following galleries contain both color and black&white photographs and images that have been taken around the U.S. and the world. New galleries will be added regularly. My latest photographic trips included Prague, in the Czec Republic, Britanny in the west of France and California, all in 2009 and early 2010. Any of the color images you see here can be produced in black&white.
In many of the photographs you will find in the following galleries, I have tried to photograph small corners of life that, had they not been photographed, probably wouldn't otherwise be seen. In others, maybe it was the essence of light and shadow that attracted attention, as with that dark, stormy sky just before the rays of the sun are blocked out producing a scene of beautiful contrasts. I hope that what I see is reflected in these galleries of color and black & white photographs and that you enjoy browsing them.
I would love to hear your comments. Please email me at gillianjacksonphotography@gmail.com

UPCOMING EXHIBITS:
BROOKLINE OPEN STUDIOS: May 1 & 2, 2010 - 11am to 6pm
Brookline Police Station, 350 Washington Street
This year BAOS is reaching out to young artists in Brookline
in a mentoring capacity and I am very pleased to have Lisa Gladysheva,
photographer and ceramic artist, showing with me at the Police
Station.
Hope to see you there.
For more information on Brookline Artists Open Studios -
check out www.brooklineartists.com
"FIRST THURSDAYS" - Jamaica Plain, June 3 between 6-8pm, come on in to FreshHair at 62 South Street. The salon participates in the community's "First Thursdays" as each first Thursday of the month, businesses along Centre and South Streets are transformed into galleries featuring works from local artists. Open receptions at each location offer a chance to meet the artists and enjoy refreshments. I'll have some smaller framed pieces there throughout the month of June - but that first Thursday should be extra fun (cheese and wine included...)! For more information visit www.jpcentresouth.org.
