The Gates installation, a somewhat controversial project by artists Crysto and Jeanne Claude, appeared in Central Park, New York, for 16 days in February, 2005. People seemed to either love or hate the swathes of billowing, saffron fabric hanging from the 7500 gates.
The following photographs appear without any digital enhancement and were taken using available, natural light.
